The Pope Met With Vladimir And Elena Zelensky

The Ukrainian president thanked the pontiff for his support.

Pope Leo XIV met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and First Lady Elena Zelensky at the Vatican.

The Vatican press service reported this, publishing the corresponding video.

Zelensky also reported on the meeting in his Telegram channel, publishing several photos from it.

The President expressed his gratitude to Leo XIV for the audience and to the Vatican for its readiness to become a platform for direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

"For millions of people in the world, the Pontiff is a symbol of hope for peace. And the authority and voice of the Holy See can play an important role in ending this war," Zelensky said.

"Thank you for your support of Ukraine and for your clear voice in defense of a just and lasting peace," the Ukrainian president also wrote.
