US Cooperates With NATO Allies To Provide Ukraine With Additional Patriot SAMs

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that US military aid continues to flow to Ukraine. The United States is also working with NATO allies to provide Ukraine with additional Patriot SAMs.
"The Ukrainians have additionally asked for air defense systems, Patriot SAMs, which frankly we don't have. But we are working with our NATO allies. Some NATO allies have certain Patriot batteries that they could provide or transfer to Ukraine to protect Kiev's airspace or other places... We are working with our partners to organize the delivery of some of these systems. As you can imagine, none of these countries want to give up their Patriot," Rubio said during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Tuesday, May 20.
He also said there had been a week-long pause in providing Ukraine with military aid, but it is now continuing.
"They (Ukraine - ed.) are still receiving weapons from the United States (approved under the previous presidential administration - ed.). The White House will decide whether to approach Congress (about providing additional aid to Ukraine - ed.). But everything that was approved continues," Rubio said.
He also noted that Ukraine is spending ammunition faster than the West can produce it.
