Ukrainian Drones Attacked Migalovo Military Airfield

The Russians evacuated the planes.

The Ukrainian armed forces attacked Russia with 110 drones on the night of May 25, the Russian Defense Ministry has reported. According to the ministry, 16 drones were destroyed over the Tula region, 14 each over the Bryansk and Kaluga regions, and 13 each over the Moscow and Tver regions. Also, 10 drones were shot down over Belgorod and Kursk regions, eight over Orel and two over Smolensk. Another one drone each was eliminated over Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Novgorod regions.

The target of the AFU was Migalovo airfield near Tver, where the 196th military transport aviation regiment is stationed. The attack on the neighborhood of the same name was reported by Governor Igor Rudenya. He said that "there is no destruction of residential buildings" and no one was injured. Meanwhile, footage of thick black smoke in the area of the airfield and the work of air defense appeared in the network.

The channel "VChK-OGPU" told about the evacuation of aircraft. According to open data, "224 Flight Detachment", a subsidiary of the Ministry of Defense, is also stationed in Migalovo. In 2023, it, along with 41 aircraft, fell under blocking US sanctions for the transportation of personnel and equipment of PMC Wagner. The detachment is also on the EU and UK blacklists.
