A bridge collapsed onto a passenger train in Russia's Bryansk region, killing at least seven people and injuring more than three dozen others.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and the region's governor, Alexander Bogomaz.
According to emergency services, three dead and 28 hospitalized were initially reported. Subsequently, the governor clarified that the death toll had risen to seven people. Among the injured are two children. All the injured have been taken to medical facilities. Emergency rescue operations are continuing at the site.
Russian media inform that among the dead - the train driver, a child of infant age was seriously injured. Eleven ambulance crews, including a children's intensive care vehicle, were involved in the accident.
According to the governor, the accident occurred near one of the sections of the A240 federal highway, where a bridge collapsed onto a passenger train.
The accident derailed a locomotive and several cars of a passenger train traveling from Klimov to Moscow.
