Sasnovich Will Compete With The Offender Of Another Belarusian For A Place In The "Wimbledon" Basis

The Belarusian tennis player successfully overcame two starting rounds of qualification.

Alexandra Sasnovich successfully overcame two initial rounds of qualification of the Wimbledon tournament and is now one step away from reaching the main draw.

In the second stage, the third-ranked player of the country confidently beat Russian Oksana Selekhmetieva - 6:2, 6:3.

The Belarusian team suffered losses earlier: Kristina Dmytruk left the tournament in the first round of qualifying, and Irina Shimanovich dropped out in the second round. The latter lost to Latvian Darija Semenista - 4:6, 2:6. The Belarusian failed to recover from a grueling previous match and couldn't cope with a higher-ranked opponent.

It is interesting that it is Semenista who can knock Sasnovich out of the fight. If she wins her next match, the Latvian will become a barrier on the way to the main draw for another representative of Belarus.

The prize money at this year's Wimbledon is over $72 million. Arina Sobolenko and Viktoria Azarenka have already been announced for the main draw.
