A Meeting With Svetlana Alexievich Will Take Place In Warsaw

A meeting with the Nobel laureate will be held at the New Theater on June 16.
On June 16, Nobel Prize laureate and honorary chairwoman of Belarusian PEN Svetlana Alexievich will meet with readers in Warsaw, "Euroradio" reports. The event will take place at the New Theater on Mokotów, starting at 19:00. Entrance is free!
Svetlana Alexievich recently turned 77 years old. She is known as a writer and journalist, and in 2015 she received the Nobel Prize in Literature - for her "polyphonic works, a monument to suffering and courage in our time".
Alexievich's main work is a cycle of five books about the "red man". Her works are devoted to the participation of women in World War II, the Chernobyl disaster, the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan, the life of post-Soviet countries in transition.
Researchers classify Svetlana Alexievich's works as documentary prose. The author herself says about her work: "I do not write a dry, naked history of facts, events - I write the history of feelings.
